4/25/21: Special Guest Speaker Rev. Tenku Ruff, Osho: True Intimacy
Sunday, April 25, 2021 (10 - 12 pm ET)
Join us for a special event on Zoom with guest speaker Rev. Tenku Ruff, Osho.
If nothing else, this past year has taught us not-knowing, whether we wanted it to or not. Not-knowing can feel terrifying and yet, if we learn to stay present to it, there is spaciousness, openness, and tenderness. And when we make not-knowing an intentional action—turning toward it rather than running away—the barriers that hold us back from true intimacy begin to dissolve, offering a deeper connection with each other, and with the entire universe. In this talk, Tenku Ruff Osho will draw on some of her experiences working as a hospital chaplain during the Covid-19 pandemic to show how the very not-knowing that often seems so frightening may also offer us our deepest connections. The talk will expand on the themes in Tenku’s article: The Intimacy of Covid, in Lion’s Roar magazine.
Rev. Tenku Ruff, Osho is a Soto Zen Buddhist priest, professional chaplain, and Director of Spiritual Services at Phelps Hospital, in New York. Today, Tenku is the head priest of Beacon Zen Temple in Beacon, New York. Tenku has strong interest in ethics, inter-Buddhist/interfaith dialogue, and ways people can support each other and grow through challenges in life.
