This is the second semester of a three-semester course based upon the book of the same title by Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche studying the core teachings of Buddhism. We explore the four noble truths, karma, meditation practice, refuge vows, ego and egolessness, and the practice of meditation. This second semester will focus on the simplicity of shamatha, and includes direct instructions for the practice, including characteristics and obstacles. The semester concludes with an in-depth examination of The Four Foundations of Mindfulness. The emphasis continues to be on personal development through meditative discipline and study.
